The North American SAP University Alliances Summer Workshops concluded this week with 276 professors taking part in training opportunities. The Online Live Workshops included Analytics, Accounting Information Systems and an Introduction to ERP. Over 130 professors from 87 member schools registered for these sessions and completed four days of hands-on online training. Following these sessions, 70 professors from 52 member schools participated in four days of train-the-trainer oriented workshops from July 9-12. The second week of face-to-face training involved 106 faculty from 68 member schools. Sessions ncluded classes in Analytics, ERP, SAP HANA, Mobile and Design Thinking.
The Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee hosted two weeks of face-to-face training where faculty increased their knowledge of SAP HANA, ERP, Mobility, and Design Thinking.
Chris Han of SAP Labs Palo Alto conducted a Design Thinking workshop on “The Future of Higher Education and SAP University Alliances.” Professors then broke into discipline specific groups – Accounting, Supply Chain Management and Management Information Systems.
Simha Magal of Grand Valley State University taught ERP Configuration using GBI. Participants were introduced to SAP ERP Configuration using the Global Bike, Inc. (GBI) curriculum. Topics include: curriculum overview for SAP ERP Configuration; teaching system configuration using the GBI client: concepts, exercises, and effective pedagogy; and guidance on preparing for first classroom use.
Bob Szymanski of Georgia Southern University lead the Introduction to University Alliances and SAP ERP. Participants were introduced to the SAP University Alliances program, the SAP ERP application, and best practices for effectively teaching with University Alliances curriculum.
The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee staff were gracious hosts, providing classrooms, assistance and organization for the event. Notable news from UWM was the announcement that Dave Haseman, UCC Director and Gail Schemberger will be retiring next year. Ross Hightower, Assistant UCC Director commented “We will definitely miss them.”
