These are exciting times to be a part of the SAP Ecosystem, and I am passionate about all the innovative technologies driving business outcomes, which are sprouting from our relationship.  We are seeing many of these innovations right here at EMC with EMC IT's complete virtualization of SAP, early adoption of SAP HANA, and now BPC on Virtualized HANA.

1) Virtualized HANA:  Yes, you heard it right, EMC has virtualized SAP HANA based on a clear EMC IT strategy of virtualization to drive efficiencies.

You can read more about why EMC IT virtualized SAP HANA by clicking here:

or a high level InfoGraphic can be downloaded here:

2) Redefining IT:  Now on to the subject at hand - why are companies faced with the challenge of Redefining IT?  I am a firm believer that the next generation of companies who redefine IT from a data-centric model to a business services model will begin to evolve their IT from operations to a broker of services.  This will help companies  evolve to a software defined enterprise, and move towards the IDC designated "3rd platform".  According to IDC Chief Analyst Frank Gens,  "In 2014, we'll see every major player make big 'put up or shut up' investments to scale up cloud, mobile, and Big Data capabilities and fiercely battle for the hearts and minds of the developers that will create the solutions driving the next two decades of IT spending."

In fact, we at EMC are so excited about this we created a video talking about this very subject, which will take a lot less time to listen to than if I write about it.;-)
