I received this email as I was traveling to Orlando. I thought some of you might be interested in the responses I got from some of the HANA gurus! And watch out for special appearances by Hasso Plattner and vishal.sikka.

Dear Graham,

I was wondering if you could answer me two questions:

Do you know, how the disaster recovery mechanism works for HANA? And if it’s already secure enough (“ausgereift”) for companies to rely on?

And secondly, as I’ve learned there is going to be a EHP7 Upgrade later this year. Do you know if this upgrade somehow affects HANA – e.g. will it be required to install or will HANA be optimized for EHP7?

Thanks in advance!

Alice

Dear Alice,

Thanks for your email. As I was in Orlando attending SAPPHIRENOW/ASUG last week I thought I would ask a few of the HANA experts your questions.

Those that were kind enough to agree to help included vijay.vijayasankar , serge.muts and thomas.jung. I also had some input from jeffrey.word , karin.tillotson2 and simha.magal of varying use. 

Please find their contributions in this video.

Cheers

Graham Robbo

p.s. Make sure you watch all the way through to the credits for the link to the new book from Jeff Word & Simha R. Magal called Business Process Integration with SAP ERP. You get it at http://epistemypress.com/books/BPI/ or from Apple iBookstore and Amazon.

Dear Graham

I am the Alice you answered the questions for in your latest blog and I just wanted to say thank you for doing that for me! To be honest I’m still a bit overwhelmed and don’t even know what to say – this really helps a lot and is perfect for my thesis!

I hope it wasn’t too much effort for you doing that and I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for this!

Thank you so much and kind regards,

Alice
