Community Manager

Hi!

I was blogged forward by me  [In the beginning of each blog please link to the blog that blogged it forward to you]. This blog is a part of the "Blog It Forward" challenge. Follow and update the Blog It Forward Chain once you post your BIF blog.

My name is Moshe Naveh. If you had told me five years ago that I would become a community manager in SAP I would have told you "no way"! This is because it was very different from what I'd done until then. Seven years ago, after a two year trip around the world, I started my own tourism agency. We specialized in creating cultural themed vacations. Our lead product was a culinary vacation combined with swimming in the Red Sea. After that I was hired to manage a tourism portal. That was my first official job in the Internet field.

A fun fact about my country:

Israel has a large variety of cultures and ethnicities. In a single hour-long ride you can traverse a desert, forests, mountains and a sea or two. The human landscape is equally diverse and impressive.

What do you enjoy most in your work and why?

SAP Community Network for me is a fertile ground to seed creative ideas and watch them grow. The new SCN platform offers many new and exciting opportunities. A good example is the "Blog It Forward" challenge.

What do you foresee as the future of your field of expertise?

I expect that in a decade social communities like Facebook will change the way people interact with each other. For example, a person could go into a bar wearing specially designed glasses. With these glasses, using the augmented reality technology, he/she will be able to browse the Facebook profiles of the people sitting at the bar.

As for SCN, I believe that regardless of the technology changes that we will experience, members will still expect quick answers to their questions.

What was the most fun project you ever participated in and why?

I have participated in many fun projects but I will focus on SCN. The SCN project that I enjoyed the most is the wiki space councils. The idea was to assemble a group of topic leaders for each major wiki space. The council was responsible for updating content, improving layout and providing assistance to community members. I'm very happy to see these topic leaders moderate in the new SCN.

In order to get the ball rolling I will "Blog It Forward" to my team members:
