Hi, my name is Karen Golub and I was blogged forward by Oxana.

I am a very recent addition to the portal group, doing social media and brand and market related research. I grew up In Israel, the USA, and Germany, and a little more than a year ago I spent several months interning in Sweden. All three places are home, and my own culture is a mixture of all three. I like my pancakes to be American style (enormous with chocolate chips and maple syrup), I like Israeli honesty, and I expect German punctuality.

I'm a bit of a speed junky. My number one sport has always been running, I drink an average about 6 cups of coffee a day (black, no milk, no sugar), and I speak really really fast (and a lot).

I'm also a bit of an information junky. I take a great interest in a lot of things. I consider a place like SAP to have the rare ability to provide me with a perspective on how complicated processes evolve and how our world is changing. Our ability to communicate and pass information is  entirely different than what it was ten years ago. To me that is amazing, like witnessing a revolution.

An unusual fact about myself – when I moved to the USA, I knew so little about American culture (despite being American) that I accidentally joined the high school football team (thinking it was soccer) and then stayed on the team out of sheer stubbornness for a whole year, the only girl on the team. I was the worst wide receiver North Springs High School ever had.

I never took any after army big trip like is common an Israel, I did however attempt to go north in the Norwegian fjords on my own with a one kilo sleeping bag, jeans, and three t-shirt and absolutely no experience hiking. (Anyone who has traveled in Scandinavia knows that that's almost like announcing you're tired of being alive). It only took a few days for me to run back to civilization, but I would like to go back one day (with proper equipment) and moreover I would like to see the Northern Lights.

Thank you for reading, I'm forwarding this blog to regina.kreimer:

I would like to ask her to answer one or all of the following questions:

  • Share a crazy fact/story about yourself that people don't know.
  • What was the most fun project you ever participated in and why?

(Please be sure to follow the Blog It Forward Chain to be notified when people mentioned previously, update the link to their "BIF" blog).
