Hi,

I was blogged forwarded by Blog It Forward - Jitendra Kansal & Blog It Forward - Moshe Naveh . Thanks to you both for the invite and thank you Moshe for starting this wonderful activity.

I am Ashwini Deshpande from Pune, India. I am on board just a month back. It feels good to participate now.

Initially it was kind of intimidating…. but after browsing for a couple of times, I realized that this forum is not for all “Techies”  but for people like me who are from other backgrounds also can be part of this community  .....… so here I am....blogging today.

I am working with LinguaNext Technologies as a Marketing Manager.

Our company is an EBS (Enterprise Business Solution) partner of SAP We are in language localization area.

Our invented technology enables SAP to run in any Indian or Global languages without any source code change or database updates. Great? Isn’t it?

Earlier to this I have worked in the advertising agency for 8 years in different roles…later moved to a travel company to work on its newly launched corporate tours division branding and marketing. I had spent almost 6 years in the US (near Chicago) while my husband was working there in IT.

About my job, I feel that it’s not very common for a non IT person like me to be part of this industry. My job is to create brand awareness about our unique product.I am a creative person who likes to generate communication ideas and I feel that our product will change the lives of so many Indians who are otherwise are not part of IT revolution… which I feel is a great idea. Here it is like a learning everyday..…and I am a sponge.

--- About my City -  "Pune"

Pune is a city situated in the Western part of India and very close (about 3 hours drive) to Mumbai which is a commercial capital of India.

Pune is surrounded by mountains and hills. Right now it’s a monsoon season and it’s raining here. All the hills have turned green. It’s a beautiful weather.  There are many forts on these mountains, which were built in 1600 by great Maratha King “Shivaji Maharaj”. Today ruins are left and in monsoon season many trekkers like to hike on these forts… I love this trekking activity.

Pune is also an IT hub in  India. Reputed software companies are based in an IT park called Hijewadi.  Big brands like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, CISCO  etc etc have development centers in  Hinjewadi. About 300,000 to 500,000 IT professionals travel daily to and from this IT park.

-- What makes you smile/laugh? A good joke from my son makes me laugh

-- Had you not been into software at all, where would you have been? I would have been working in the advertising agency building brands.

---If you were 20 again, what would you study? Medicine, Human body is a mystery to me. I am big fan of ‘Greys Anatomy’ serial

-- What do you imagine or predict is the future of your topic?

India has 22 official languages and each state in India has its own language. I live in Maharashtra state and Marathi is the language which is spoken. Only a very few percentage of population speaks English and. English speaking population mostly resides in the Urban areas and metropolis… where IT is easily accessible or a part of everyday life. In India if IT needs to reach out to the grass root level and to the nooks and corner of the country, It has to be understood by all and IT should speak the language of the native people and with our technology SAP can be reached to these people, It will empower IT with Indian languages.

To keep the ball rolling I would like to invite @Ahmed Yehia @Vivek Singh Bhoi Sachin Chavan http://http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-31383

Be sure to follow the Blog It Forward Chain to be notified when they update the link to their BIF blog

I would be happy if you answer these questions,

  • What is your favorite season? Why?
  • What is your next goal in your life?
  • Which is that thing makes you do good things in life?
