I am thoroughly excited about writing this blog from the time i first read about the BIF challenge. Blog it forward is a great initiative started by moshe.naveh(for those of you who haven't heard about BIF challenge, read Blog It Forward Community Challenge ). Thank you moshe.naveh for starting this. Its really a wonderful and brilliant idea. :smile:
About Me:
My name is Sheetal Naidu. "Sheetal" means "Cool", aptly named so :wink: . I am an SAP ABAP Consultant at Mindtree Ltd, Bangalore, India. I started working just over an year ago. I chose SAP because everybody who joined from campus(along with me) wanted SAP and during the first month of training i constantly pestered my trainer with the question "Why SAP and not Java". Poor him. He could never satisfactorily answer me. I am glad i chose SAP ABAP for i like it very much. I never much liked coding during my college days. But ABAP has changed my views on coding.
I joined SCN during early days of my training but became active just a few days back. The gamification, challenges, people contributing, answering questions etc have addicted me to SCN. Now SCN has replaced my FB bookmark :razz: . My other interests are reading novels(mostly fiction), listening to music, traveling to new places, playing badminton, writing short stories and poems.
About my Hometown:
I was born at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Hyderabad also known as the "Pearl City" was established in 1591. Hyderabad is a popular tourist destination as there is a lot of historical significance attached to it. Legend has it that that Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of the city, named it "Bhagyanagar" after Bhagmati a local dancing girl with whom he had fallen in love. She converted to Islam and adopted the title "Hyder Mahal". The city was renamed "Hyderabad" in her honour. Typical to every hyderabadi(people from hyderabad call themselves hyderabadi), is the laziness, ready to help nature, friendly nature and love for food and travel (needless to say i am a typical hyderabadi :wink: ). Google hyderabad and the first few images would be of "Charminar" , "Hussain Sagar Lake", "Hyderabadi dum biryani", "Golconda Fort", "HITEC City" etc.
Charminar at night. At one point of time when Charminar was the tallest structure in whole of Hyderabad, one could see the whole city from its top.
Hussain Sagar Lake. It is also known as "Heart of the world" is the largest heart shaped lake.
Golconda Fort, home to the rulers of Qutub Shahi Dynasty. It is also the place where famous diamonds viz "Hope Diamond", "Koh-i-noor" etc were mined.
Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City, abbreviated as HITEC City, is a major technology township which is at the centre of the IT industry in Hyderabad.
So much for my hometown and now Few facts about my state:
- Andhra pradesh(AP) is the fourth largest state by area in India.
- It is historically called the "Rice Bowl of India".
- It has the second longest coastline among all states of India.
- Telugu, the official language of Andhra Pradesh, was described as the "Italian of the East " for its sweetness.
- Pingali Venkayya who designed the National flag of India is from AP.
- Nagarjunasagar in Nalgonda, AP is the world's tallest masonry dam.
- Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has been acknowledged by theGuinness World Records as the single corporation having the largest fleet of buses in the world. APSRTC has 23,000 buses in its stable.
- Theworld’s longest wardrobe can be found at Purana Haveli, Hyderabad. The wardrobe belongs to Mahbub Ali Pasha, who is said never to have worn the same thing twice.
- The Salarjung Museum located in Hyderabad, houses the biggest one-man collections of antiques in the world.
- The Vishnu Temple in the city of Tirupathi built in the 10th century, is the world's largest religious pilgrimage destination. Larger than either Rome or Mecca, an average of 30,000 visitors donate $6 million (US) to the temple everyday.
Few facts about my country:
- One of the world's oldest civilization Indus valley civilization flourished in India.
- It was a region of historic trade routes and vast empires, India was identified with its commercial and cultural wealth for much of its long history
- Four major world religions, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism originated here.
- India is the world's largest democracy.
- India is the largest English speaking nation in the world after USA.
- India has the largest number of Post Offices in the world.
- One of the largest employer in the world is the Indian Railways , employing over a million people.
- Yoga which is a widely spread practice today, has its origins in India and has existed for over 5,000 years.
- Varanasi, also known as Benaras, was called "the Ancient City", and is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world today.
- Chess (Shataranja or AshtaPada) was invented in India.
- India never invaded any country in her last 1000 years of history.

Every moment i spend with my loved ones are the best moments in my life. :smile: - How did you get into SAP technology?
As i mentioned at the start of the blog i chose SAP only because it was a popular choice for my fellow colleagues. Looking back, i am glad for having chosen SAP. Its one of my best decisions :smile:

Probably an Astronaut or archeologist. I was always interested in Space and History since childhood. - What is the craziest thing you would have done in your life?
