We are mere days away from SAPPHIRE NOW, SAP's flagship conference, and as always, we'll have plenty of groundbreaking products and announcements at the event.

I'd like to share one of those exciting announcements with you a little early...

The kickoff for the open beta for our new community will coincide with the kickoff of this year's SAPPHIRE NOW.

With the new community, we are overhauling and improving the things that concern you - while adding important components to our ONE Digital Experience (1DX) vision. Community changes will include:

  • A more robust blogging solution
  • A friendlier approach to questions and answers
  • More extensive moderation with advanced features
  • Gamification that rewards quality over quantity

And that's just a taste of what's to come!

Once open beta begins, you can check out the new community and its features, then offer us your honest opinions. Do you think the new platform makes engagement easier? Gives more intuitive access to content and key topics? Provides a better overall experience? Let us know -- because that tells us how the community is fitting into the 1DX vision.

As I've noted in previous blogs, the 1DX project mandate is to make SAP's online experience relevant - to deliver the right thing, in the right place, at the right time to meet the information needs of all our audiences. As part of 1DX, the new SAP community will further unify our digital touch points and allow you to use any device (that's right - it will be "mobile first") to collaborate, engage, network, and access relevant SAP community content.

The 1DX goal is to give SAP's audiences - the customers, partners, and developers who comprise our community - what they need, when they need it. That means our move to a new best-of-breed community platform will always put your needs first.

From the get-go, we assembled a core team of SAP community and technical experts to create a better experience, with an extended team of key community stakeholders helping to provide direction. Working together, these teams are building the community that you wanted. If that meant postponing the launch of the new community, that's what we did - because getting the community right matters most.

We are currently wrapping up a closed beta where SAP mentors, community moderators, and others have tried out the new community. They are telling us what they like (and don't), and we're listening.

Open beta is your turn to chime in.

This test phase is especially important, as it invites you (and all members) to explore the community and send us feedback. In the coming days, you'll receive additional information about open beta - explaining how you can participate and help shape the future of our community.

I can't wait to hear what you think!
