SAP ASE is having great success with SAP Business Suite customers.  Thousands worldwide have adopted SAP ASE to manage their data for SAP Business Suite.  Many have migrated from Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and other databases to gain SAP ASE’s proven value of low cost and high performance.  SAP ASE’s extreme transaction processing supports large numbers of concurrent users while efficiently managing large data sets including some in the tens of terabytes in size.

As in 2015, SAP ASE 16 continues in 2016 to dominate the SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) application benchmarks for 2- and 4-processor systems on RHEL operating system.  In addition, a new 16-processor SD benchmark with SAP ASE on RHEL and HPE takes a record-breaking top place for performance over all similar tests.

On September 15, 2016, SAP, HPE and Red Hat completed a benchmark for SAP ASE 16 on an HPE Integrity Superdome X with 16 E7-8890 v4 processors running on RHEL 7.2. This benchmark achieved a stunning world record 117,611 Benchmark Users – the best number across all database/hardware/operating system combinations in the 16-processor category.  The system also delivered 644,830 SAPS helping customers to size larger systems.  The v4 processors utilize Intel’s latest Broadwell architecture providing 24 cores per socket, 48 threads per socket running at 2.2 GHz.  [1,2]

On May 6, 2016, an SAP SD Benchmarks for SAP ASE 16 running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.2 on a Dell PowerEdge R730 with two Intel Xeon E5-2699 processors achieved the first place performance of 21,450 Benchmark Users for SAP enhancement pack 5 for SAP ERP 6.0. [3]

And, on June 6, 2016, SAP ASE 16 running on RHEL 7.2 on a Dell PowerEdge 930 with four Intel Xeon E7-8890 v4 processors demonstrated the best performance number overall for a 4-processor number with 41,450 Benchmark Users for SAP enhancement pack 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 for SAP enhancement pack 5 for SAP ERP 6.0.
