Do you know what Best-Built Applications (BBA) is?

In 2009 SAP started BBA as a new publication for SAP partners who wanted to understand how to best develop and integrate their products with SAP’s flagship Business Suite applications. BBA provides SAP’s official guidelines for development and integration of products and extensions for SAP environments. It talks about what to do, what to use, and, importantly, what not to do when developing applications that complement the Business Suite.

Not surprisingly, SAP customers liked the guidelines as well. Many of them run their own development units, and they find the BBA development guidelines helpful as well. Therefore, last year we expanded BBA to speak to customers and partners alike.

BBA is continuously published and refreshed in an agile way. Our latest version can always be found on our website (http://bestbuiltapps.sap.com) and is updated every 2 to 3 months. The next update will come out in March 2012. Be sure to download the latest version before starting new development projects.

But BBA shouldn’t be a one-way street. We already received quite a few comments and some SAP community members have even started blogging about BBA. Now we’d like to get a better overview about what our readers (including those who are not yet readers) think about BBA, how you use it, and what we could do better. Please take a few minutes to respond to our survey.
