As part of the BI Expert teams for the "Dear aBI"  gives advice on Business Intelligence, here another set of answers to some of the questions that have been put forward.

Kumar from Saudi arabia is asking the following question:

As an Implementation of BW/BO , Need some clarification on Performance of Web Intelligence on SAP BW.

Web Intelligence :

When i use the universe to generate report , the data retrieval time getting worse , it took more than 5 minutes. and the estimated time after the prompt response is 6m to 10 Mins.

Very Poor in Performance in WebI

Enterprise Administration :

Need to configure the sso , and transport the same to Quality. Since we are using the different instance with same host , that mean sap-xxx is the server name and we maintained 200 and 300 instances to point the development and quality server .

In BO Dev and Quality are in the same box , provided the entitlement in enterprise hold two system and import the role and user from the system sap-xxx

Need to know SSO Configuration for the above .

Let me start with answering the performance problem by pointing out some existing material here on SDN:

In addition to all the Best Practices you should also consider applying Service Pack 03 to your landscape as with Service Pack 03 you have now the option to configure Web Intelligence asking for the data based on the actual report or based on the Web Intelligence Query Panel. In simple words think about this new option, that Web Intelligence has now the notion of Free Characteristics. Here is a recorded webinar of all new Service Pack 03 features:

In regards to your SSO Configuration question it seems that you are looking at configuring a SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise system towards more than one SAP NetWever BW System.

In such a scenario - BusinessObjects and SAP - Configure SAP Authentication - you would simply add more than a single SAP Entitlement system. After you added multiple SAP systems the user can logon to the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise system with several SAP credentials - but there would not be SSO between the systems.

What I mean with the SSO between the systems is the following workflow:

User A is logging on to the SAP BusinessObjects System with SAP credentials for System BW1. Now User A for BW1 is calling a report that is retrieving data from BW2 but still is able to receive the information with SSO.

In case the above is what you are looking for, you would have to look at implementing SNC as part of the overall landscape and combine the SAP credentials.

I hope I was able to provide some valuable input. In case this is not answering your questions feel free to reach out to me and I am sure we can clarify the items.
