Since January, ASUG Volunteers have reviewed hundreds of abstracts to select for ASUG Annual Conference on their own time.  I am thankful to everyone who took the time to submit abstracts and also grateful to the group of ASUG Volunteers who have worked on this conference.

For the third year in a row, we have produced this ASUG BI Annual Conference Community brochure, to help attendees review and select sessions.  On the first page we have pictures of the volunteers in the ASUG BI Community so you can see the faces of the community.  I neglected to include ASUG Volunteer Sarang Deshpande, who is the Program Chair for the BITI Team's BusinessObjects & Administration SIG, but this year he worked with the BI Community on Annual Conference (my apologies to him).

In the ASUG BI Community, the content selection was very difficult has we received over 350 abstracts but could only select 50.  Last year's conference we received valuable feedback that we should include more customer stories and I am glad to say that we have done this, featuring content from these companies:

  • Johnson & Johnson
  • Eby-Brown
  • Charmer Sunbelt Group
  • Globe and Mail (Canada)
  • Coca Cola
  • Kellogg's
  • Dell
  • Zausner Foods
  • Dow Corning, and more

Additionally with SAP Hana and BW 730, along with the new BI4, we were fortunate to include SAP submissions from the #SAPRunsSAP team, SAP Product and Solution Management.  The presentations were reviewed by ASUG volunteers to ensure quality content.  Additionally we have three ASUG Community Lounge sessions and nine ASUG Influence Council sessions.

The last few pages include our busy upcoming webcast schedule.  We have tried to include all areas of face to face events, networking, education and influence.  I hope you take advantage of the education and influence sessions coming to ASUG Annual Conference over the next few days.  I hope you check out the brochure today.
