By the end of the year I usually have a big collection of online resources, papers and books to read. From Christmas to Epiphany I manage to read most of it, except for some books that stay in the list until the end of the next year.
This year, I had some issues of the Technology Forecast from PricewaterhouseCoopers to read. And the Summer 2008 issue was really worth spending the time to read. As you may know from the work I am doing at SAP Business Rules are my pet subject. And Business Rules are a main theme of the summer issue.
Some quotes:The summer 2008 issue also contains a very useful graphic that points out where the topic business rules should be located in the overall IT picture. PWC calls this Intelligent Business Performance Platform (IBPP).
Some of the stuff in Technology Forecast is by far too high-level for me. Sometimes I even have to smile as not everything I have read (see the interviews) seems like the truth to me. However, you can get much of the C-level's thinking when you read carefully. And often this is the way of thinking that is needed to convince the right people about budget decisions.
