As my first experience of business travel, Gartner Business Intelligence & Analytics Summit in Grapevine, Texas was a whirlwind of activity for me!
The conference took place at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, a massive resort and entertainment complex in it's own bio-dome terrarium. Not like any hotel I've seen before - all they were missing were some real animals and birds flying around!
NBA Basketball Game with RapidDecision
On Sunday, March 17, 2013, I had the pleasure of attending the Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game, which was hosted by SAP and RapidDecision. We had an amazing view from the box and an endless supply of food, snacks, desserts and drinks!

SAP Coffee Bar
As a special treat, SAP sponsored a coffee station with baristas brewing up lattes all day on Monday. I was stationed here for most of the day scanning badges and chatting up thirsty attendees. Chai tea latte, delicious!
SAP Solution Showcase
The Solution Showcase was a chance for attendees to talk directly to solution experts and see the options available in the market. We gave away, SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 3rdEdition and these books went like hotcakes!

Blind Wine Tasting with Cognilytics
SAP and Cognilytics generously hosted a customer dinner and CXO roundtable on Monday night featuring blind wine tasting, three course meals and an opinionated game of Winners or Losers, where people shared their honest opinions on the future direction of well-known companies.

FedEx Customer Session
We had Andy Mills, Business Intelligence Manager at FedEx Services come present as an SAP customer to share how they increased operational effectiveness using SAP BusinessObjects business intelligence solutions in only 6 months for 1,800 store locations.

And of course, I was tweeting away throughout the conference and was very excited to see all the activity on Twitter. There were almost 2,000 tweets on the first day! The second day declined to a still impressive 1,200 tweets and the last day had just over 500 tweets.
