Our recent unveiling of SAP’s BI vision and roadmap has proved to be our best attended #askSAP Analytics Innovations Community Call to date. There’s no question our customers want to know more about what’s coming up in BI, and how they will benefit from all the upcoming capabilities.

Missed the call? Don’t worry – it’s not too late to replay it and get a first-hand look at how we’re simplifying our BI and analytics tools. You can view all of the questions and answers here and join the conversation on our active #askSAP twitter feed.

The interactive call outlined what the BI future holds for different types of enterprise and LOB users, the latest innovations in the SAP BusinessObjects BI Suite, and gave a progress report on the SAP BI simplification convergence strategy.

The speakers outlined the latest innovations in the desktop and server editions of SAP Lumira, SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.5 and a preview of SAP BusinessObjects 4.2. One of the ‘big reveals’ was SAP IT Operations Analytics, a new solution for managing today’s data centers.

Along with the announcement came an overview of what this new solution offers: visibility across the data center, streaming of log data in real-time, and the ability to combine disparate data sources into one view for easier analysis. (By the way, if your company wants to participate in an early-user “ramp up” program for this new tool, you can message Jayne Landry @jaynelandry or #askSAP directly to find out more.)

The call also offered a glimpse ahead at SAP Lumira 1.27, which now offers better data-wrangling and blending capabilities and can handle larger data sets. Other improvements include better cross-tab functionality, geospatial location analytics, as well as chart formatting and customization.

Ultimately, all of these solutions serve the same goal – to help companies unlock the value that lies all too often completely buried in their colossal amounts of data: transaction data, machine-to-machine data, conversation data, etc., all of which is being created on a daily basis and on a massive scale. New BI capabilities offer the opportunity to translate that value into tangible business outcomes. And to do it more simply.

If you’d like to replay the call, including the interactive Q&A, you can view a full recording here. Feel free to share this link with your colleagues. You can also view the presentation slides from the live event here.
