Advanced technologies like big data, mobile, social and cloud are accelerating business change at an unprecedented pace. To be sure, each new solution represents a tantalizing array of possibilities to help businesses create a better future. But 70 percent of corporate change initiatives fail, according to Harvard Business School professors Michael Beer and Nitin Nohria. Companies typically struggle to understand the optimal path to take: Which solutions should they choose, and how can they get the most business value from them? These are the questions that SAP’s Business Transformation Services (BTS), answer for customers every day.

Many people may be aware of SAP as the world’s largest provider of enterprise software, offering solutions that help companies do taxes, hire top-talent, manage resources and delight customers. However, delivering world-class solutions isn’t enough in a complex world. So SAP also operates as its customers’ business partner as well. The primary goal is to help companies realize the full value of their SAP software investments. In this YouTube video, co-CEO Jim Hagemann Snabe describes how SAP’s Value Partnership service guides customers over a period of years through the innovation journey.

On a daily basis, BTS guides companies in uniting people, processes and technology behind corporate goals. To foster the exchange of ideas on a global scale, BTS and the SAP affiliated Business Transformation Academy (BTA) are once again co-hosting the fourth annual SAP Global Business Transformation Summit in Washington, D.C., Sept. 11 and 12, which I blogged about last week.

It’s one thing for companies to talk about their objectives, but customers have the strongest voice in how these commitments actually generate results. Customers that have partnered with SAP BTS include:

“The Business Transformation Services group . . . was of immense value to Dawn Food Products during our blueprinting, testing, and realization phases. The group helped to lead us toward a clearer definition of our business design and process definitions.”

--Bryan Sayles, Director of Business Systems

Dawn Foods Products Inc.

“In its role as a trusted advisor, the Business Transformation Services group provides an outside perspective with relevant industry expertise. This allows us to determine our approach while applying best practices and leveraging their experience.”

--Kurt Walther, Director, Global IT and Business Intelligence

PUMA

"With the rail line profitability system, we gained deep insight into distinct line costs, enabling us to discover cost optimization opportunities for tariff rebalancing. SAP Consulting helped us define a best-of-breed model and introduce innovations.”

--Giancarlo Casati, Corporate IT and Infrastructure Systems

Rete Ferroviara Italiana (RFI) S.p.A

These are just three of the companies working in partnership with SAP on the business of transformation. Many more will be showcased at the summit, which you can follow on Twitter @SAPServices and #SAPBTSummit.
