Even though everyone admits that Big Data is a big deal there is no consensus on its definition and typically leads to how big is big. Instead of unnecessary debating whether the data volume that an organization manages can be classified as Big Data or not I prefer to explain the opportunities of the Big Data trend. This exactly is the focus of Timo Elliot’s Big Data webinar tomorrow. He will provide at great use cases that will help clarify the importance of Big Data and why it’s such a big deal.

Timo Elliot @timoelliott is an innovation evangelist and international conference speaker who presents to IT and business audiences around the world on the latest trends in information strategy and technology. His popular Business Analytics blog at timoelliott.com tracks innovation in analytics and social media, including topics such as big data, collaborative decision-making, and social analytics. A 22-year veteran of SAP BusinessObjects, Timo works closely with SAP research and innovation centers around the world on new technology prototypes. His PowerPoint Twitter Tools lets presenters see and react to tweets in real time, embedded directly within their slides. He has a draft US patent in the area of augmented reality analytics. Prior to Business Objects, Timo was a computer consultant in Hong Kong and led analytics projects for Shell in New Zealand. He holds a first-class honors degree in Economics with Statistics from Bristol University, England.
