Wow, what an awesome day!

The inaugural HIVE event – a celebration of design at SAP's Palo Alto campus – was a huge success.

The first part of the day was about getting SAP Silicon Valley people together from all of the different campuses. We were able to really talk about what we’re doing in design, showcasing some of the great innovation that’s going on here.

In the afternoon we had some great keynote speakers with Don Norman and Justin Ferrell kicking it off talking about he new design lab at UCSD – and really the future of work and how design and human-centered innovation plays a part in that. Justin was able to give a great overview about all the exciting stuff they’re doing at the d.school, Stanford – as well as the fellowship program there.

And then, what a list of external speakers! It was great to get that outside perspective on what’s cutting edge – what are other organizations doing on the topic of design.

And, of course, we had the opportunity to formally launch the d.forum (http://www.dthinkforum.org/) – a collective of organizations that are all trying to bring Design Thinking and human-centered innovation into their organizations and scale it globally. It’s critical to the positive forward momentum of this innovative approach that each organization – the people who are spearheading these efforts – aren’t alone. d.forum means we’re all working with each other – teaming up together – with a rich archive of success stories to build from.

Thanks for being a part of the incredible success of SAP’s inaugural HIVE event!
