How SAP Helps Partners of all Sizes Innovate Big

Since starting Innovapptive three years ago, CEO and Co-Founder Hari Kamineni said his company has exponentially grown, fueled by strategic, ongoing support from partner SAP. Although relatively small in size compared to other SAP partners, Innovapptive has won big. This year the company delivered 77 mobile applications on the SAP HANA Platform, and walked home from SAP’s SAPPHIRE NOW event with a 2015 Pinnacle Award in the category of Application Development Partner of the Year.

Kamineni said it was an easy decision to become a partner after working with SAP solutions for over 15 years. He directly credits SAP with jumpstarting Innovapptive’s rapid growth across industries including food processing, consumer product goods, life sciences, retail, oil and gas, and chemicals.

“Mobile, cloud and the SAP HANA Cloud Platform have been among our focus areas from the beginning,” said Kamineni. “SAP had already begun doing fantastic things for partners with PartnerEdge program, and has really helped us with support that provides momentum. Between featuring our applications on the SAP Store where customers can easily find and purchase them to ongoing marketing support, the exposure from being an SAP partner has given our business an enormous boost. We’ve added so many customers in such a short amount of time.”

Using mobile to simplify business – fast

Headquartered in Texas with a development team in India, Innovapptive designs SAP certified mobile solutions for its customers in the United States, Europe and The Middle East. While mobile promises easy data access to employees across human resources, the supply chain, finance, field services and sales, the biggest pain point companies experience is around speedy development and deployment. This is Innovapptive’s sweet spot.

“We’ve taken customers with zero mobile footprint to complete mobilization in six to eight weeks,” said Kamineni. “The biggest dilemma organizations face when bringing mobile solutions to their employees is deciding whether or not to invest in expensive mobile developers and infrastructure. Using our Customizations and Extensions Cockpit, companies can quickly and cost-effectively configure mobile apps for faster time to value.”

Mobile technology has become essential for employees intent on mirroring their personal computing experience in the workplace. Innovapptive is riding this wave, exploring apps for human resources (HR), procurement and finance. The company has a competency center focused on employee self-service, and plans to build mobile apps to run on SuccessFactors HR software later this year.

Customer interest is high is two of Innovapptive’s latest apps. SAP Mobile Inventory and Warehouse Management (pictured above) provides employees with real-time inventory management from their mobile device, connecting directly with information across SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The SAP Mobile Universal Approvals app works with any system, allowing employees to quickly manage approvals from anywhere, at any time, streamlining processes and boosting productivity. Kamineni said Innovapptive is relying on SAP’s portfolio innovations to meet additional customer demands.

“We want to more than double our size in the next year, aligned with SAP’s strategic road map,” he said. “S/4HANA has been a huge focus area for us. We are aggressively looking to build services extensions that integrate with cloud solutions such as SuccessFactors, providing a new experience for our customers using the S/4HANA platform.”

Advice for smaller companies on partnering with SAP

Kamineni encourages companies of all sizes to partner with SAP. “Innovation is the way to grow,” he said. “You have to align your innovation road map with SAP’s, and get extremely close to SAP for all the co-innovation and training benefits this partnership provides.”
