At the 2016 SAP SapphireNow + ASUG Annual Conference, David Shield (CFO) and Nick Fazio of Sonny's Car Wash detailed their situation. Sonny's Car Wash is the biggest maker of car wash conveyor systems in the world. They use a consultative sales approach from system design to installation. And they sell parts online by using CRM and ERP systems to manage their business.

But their initial set up was not mobile responsive, searching was difficult, the CMS was rigid and the solution would  no longer be maintained after the year 2020. "We needed a solution that would work with SAP ECC, and something that would give a much better user experience," Shields explained. "That's why we went with SAP Hybris."

Started Right Away

Sonny's hired Fusion.Zaelab, a SAP Gold Level Partner, to implement SAP Hybris Cloud ERP. Fusion used a continuous delivery model to make the transition. Fazio said, "We jumped in and got started right away. We made changes on the fly as we learned more about what was involved."

He explained they interviewed customers and distributors first to see what they wanted on their site. From there, they developed different buyer personas that became the groundwork for building out the site and laying out current content in a way that is more intuitive for each different persona. The result: A responsive design that made the site accessible from any device. Clients can now manage their accounts better, ordering is more efficient, content is better organized, cross-selling and up-selling opportunities abound and growth is scalable.
