At last week's ASUG Annual Conference, several sessions, SAP discussed "ZEN", also known as SAP BusinessObjects Analysis Edition for Application Design. It has been described as the "premium alternative to BEx Web Application Designer". During an ASUG Analysis Influence session, SAP's alexander.peter showed us a live application on ZEN. At various sessions, we got to see the ASUG Analysis Roadmap (also available at service.sap.com/roadmap link).
During eric.schemer's session, he emphasized that there is "no pressure to move off Web Application Designer". The key user of SAP Zen will be the IT persona. Eric explained that they took a "mobile first" approach when developing Zen.
Some of us got to try it out at the usability testing sessions last week - what can I say? Well nothing about the usability testing, since I signed an NDA. On twitter, SAP's ian.mcalpine thanked everyone as they had a full house for Analysis usability sessions.
Would you like to try it yourself? Then read this document here and submit your application today. Beta testing means you cannot deploy this to production, but it is something you should consider, especially if your company has heavily invested in BEx Web Application Designer.
