This post and accompanying video illustrate how to size your Adaptive Processing Server (APS) for optimal performance when deploying SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for OLAP.

The video walks us through the “System Configuration Wizard” for various RAM settings, when sizing your BOE environment for Analysis for OLAP and other clients. The results of this sizing exercise are then highlighted in the “Servers List”, where you will observe 4 APS servers were created. An out-of-the-box BI4 system normally contains only one APS, running all Services.

The video then proceeds to highlight the memory and session settings that have been configured by the wizard on the Multi-Dimensional Analysis Service (MDAS), the Service responsible for Analysis for OLAP. The wizard has hosted the MDAS within a APS named "Analysis".

Please note, for an enjoyable viewing, adjust the video quality to 720p.
