The long wait is nearly over for mobile dashboard solutions from SAP ļ
In 2012 SAP plans to release mobility solutions for SAP Dashboards (formerly Xcelsius) that will leverage
a seamless integration with the current dashboard designer desktop product to enable both flash and mobile/html5
preview for dashboard builders (both for new projects as well as leveraging existing dashboards (*.xlf).
Mobile dashboards can be published to the BI Platform and then consumed on mobile device of choice.
Initial focus for this solution in 2012 will be on iOS (other devices in 2013), and will deliver a native *.ipa (application)
for viewing content on iPad2 devices.
SAP plans to provide mobile-ready equivilents of their most commonly deployed components/charts/etc. in the first release which should satisfy a large percentage of customer use cases, followed by downloadable updates of more components into 2013. Documentation of supplied components will of course be provided once the list has been finalized.
SAP plans to deliver mobile dashboards demonstrations live @ SAP SAPPHIRE 2012 and will also plan to deliver this solution to customers via our standard SAP Ramp-Up process in 2012.
