Scenario:

we have many SAP Dashboards which was built on BW BEx Query's Using OLAP Connection.

it is very difficult to Identity the BEx Query Technical Name, This feature is not included in official release. How to Identity ??

Create an OLAP connection:

Open your Dashboard Tool & Go to Query Browser --> Click on Add Query

Select Data Source --> BEx

Select your OLAP Connection

Select your BEx Query

Select Your Fields

BEx Query Technical Name not available, if I have more that one Query which have same description How I can Identify which Query is used in Dashboard.

Solution:

As per SAP, this future will be available in Version 4.2 SP3.

The attachment (testing_binary.zip) contains the fix .

    1) Unzip files in attachment "testing_binary.zip"

copy them to C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Xcelsius 4.0\assets\queryComponent

(backup original files first)

    2)  Re-launch Dashboards

    3) Open your xlf file, see if you can find the technical name in

tooltip.

    4) Note As per SAP, these files should work with BI4.1 Dashboards SP05 and

above, I tested with 4.1 SP02, it works.

you can find the technical name in tool-tip.

Note: Attached files I received from SAP as a interim solution.

Thanks,

Jameel Ahmed Shaikh
