Always check the Software Logistics Tools first!

With the Release of the current SL toolset 1.0 SP12 - SL Toolset 1.0 SPS 12: improved Software Logistics Tools there is now a new option for ABAP and JAVA based Upgrades available.

Already introduced with the database migration option (DMO) the new SAPUI5 based Frontend allows even more possibilities when it comes to the monitoring of any Upgrade process despite the underlying database - SUM: New SL Common UI available for AS ABAP scenarios

ℹ the activation for SSL together with the SAPHostAgent can be found in this SFG Document - SAP First Guidance - SAP-NLS Solution with SAP IQ

If the SUM Process won't start, see also the workaround on Page 25 in the following Presentation - Upgrade to SAP Business Warehouse 7.40

This Graphic shows the old and new UI access:

All common Browser types are supported, i.e. IE 11, Google, Firefox in their latest Versions.

one of the mayor advantages is the fact, that the SAPHostAgent which is part of every SAP based Installation takes care of the complete communication between the SAPup and the Frontend without having an online Window to the OS open.

Various Options allow a flexible usage of the new SUM UI in the usage of the upgrade process.

Different colors show individual process steps with different importance or errors

Additional possibilities like access to important log files can be accessed via "tail mode" independent to the used Backend OS.
