Last month, the Business Analytics SIG launched the 2013 Women in Analytics with the aim of recognising the critical role that women continuously play in the Analytics area within our organisations.

We asked you to nominate women who you thought were BI Champions in your organisation. Thank you to the community for taking time out to nominate each of these women.

AFSUG congratulates them and we celebrate their continued efforts in being a Champion
in the Analytics Space. As Women's month comes to a close, we believe that their stories will inspire other women to do the same!

“Being able to help customers realise their investment through reporting and analytics is what inspires me. It
is the final step of an  implementation that brings it all together for the customer, and also where you can make a big difference to the individual end users.”

Why Dorothy?
She has made a fundamental impact in the market and the
Analytics space in South Africa. Growing the ecosystem with her generous sharing of knowledge, mentoring and driving success in customers across the market.

" I'm ambitious, self-motivated and a very hard working person. I started my career as a programmer in C# for about 3 years and I then decided to join the SAP world as a SAP BO consultant. I have over 4 years' experience in the Analytics field and am certified as a Business Objects Professional."

Why Lesego?

The first woman in South Africa to work on the new release of BI 4.1. She has done amazing work at Transnet National Ports Authority and has excelled on the mobility portion of the project.

“I was inspired by a dad who made me believe that I could do anything I wanted to. In my mind, I never thought of any career possibility as male dominated or not. IT seemed like a secure career option - every business relies on technology and they all need people to support and manage their systems and data.”

Why Hanjo?
She has demonstrated to her clients and to her company that she is capable of delivering large scale BI solutions on her own and also understands that SAP Analytic solutions must deliver business value over and above any technical efficiency.

“I'm proud to say that I've been employed at the international leading municipality for 23 years. I've been involved in the
ERP Finance Stream in the City's ERP Solution Centre for 11 years - from the start of the City of Cape Town SAP implementation.”

Why Juanita?
She has led various BI projects that have truly transformed the organisation. She recently presented some of this work at the Mastering Finance held earlier this year.
