Where Should SAP CRM On Premise Invest Next? by John Burton

 

It's no secret that SAP has set its sights high... on the stars, the heavens, and the clouds. We are talking about Cloud computing of course, not cumulonimbus thunderclouds. Not only has SAP been cranking out bold new Cloud-based offerings like the SAP Cloud for Customer solution for CRM, but SAP has made been strengthening it's Cloud portfolio with major cloud-based investments like Ariba and Concur.

 

That being said, SAP also knows that not all customers and industries are ready to leap up into the clouds just yet. There are still thousands of SAP customers running CRM on Premise for example. And while some of those customers are indeed looking to gradually migrate to the Cloud over time, or to perhaps embrace a hybrid Cloud/On-Premise approach, others have no immediate plans to move away from their On-Premise investment.

 

In order to help protect the investment that such customers have made in CRM on Premise, SAP has announced that mainstream maintenance of the SAP Business Suite (including CRM on Premise) has been extended to 2025. In addition, SAP is continuing to actively invest in and enhance the SAP CRM on Premise solution!
