Following the certification of SAP IQ on Amazon Web Services, SAP IQ 16 is now available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)!

An AMI is used to instantiate (create) a virtual machine within the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud ("EC2"). It serves as the basic unit of deployment for services delivered using EC2.

Having SAP IQ available on the cloud offers plenty of benefits:

  • Works anywhere - since the software is hosted in the cloud and accessible over the internet, users can access it anywhere.
  • Saves time - the software application is already installed and configured.
  • Pay for what you need – no need to buy hardware to host your new application.

Customers can now begin using IQ remotely in a matter of minutes! Creating an instance of the SAP IQ AMI provides customers with an out of the box, ready-to-use version of SAP IQ 16. Users are recommended to start with an instance of m3.large size but are welcome to create larger instances if necessary.

The SAP IQ AMI is offered on Linux SUSE 11.4 and is available as a Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model, meaning there is no hourly cost placed by SAP for using the AMI. Amazon does, however, charge a small amount per hour for the use of AMIs. SAP IQ licenses may be purchased from http://sap.com.
