As SAPPHIRE NOW kicks off in Orlando this week, SAP is announcing major new capabilities, partners, apps, and awards on HANA Cloud Platform and we'd like to bring you a summary of some of the major new capabilities here:
Known as IoT Services, this official new foray into IoT support from SAP signals HCP as an IoT application development platform. At its core, it's a set of two services: 1) Remote Device Management Service (RDMS), and 2) Message Management Service (MMS):
In addition, you'll find a new GUI in the HANA Cloud Platform called the Internet of Things Services Cockpit which helps you interact with RDMS to onboard new devices.
Altogether, the IoT Services release supports device and data management for IoT application scenarios, simplifying the deployment of lightweight IoT cloud applications. You can find IoT services available for testing in the HCP trial landscape, try it out today following this quick start, check out the documentation online at https://help.hana.ondemand.com/iot, and follow the IoT community here on SCN for more information.

Stay tuned for more updates in this space.
Also new in the platform is the Gamification Service, which lets you introduce game mechanics into enterprise applications with a Web API, easy-to-use SAPUI5 widgets, and a Gamification Workbench. You can try it out today by following this quick start. Read the documentation here.
