You can now use the SAP Jam service to integrate different SAP Jam features into SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

With this service you can do the following operations:

  • You can build socially-infused applications on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

Users no longer need to access different systems to get business data. For more information, see Build socially-infused applications on the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

  • You can add SAP Jam functionality to web pages with SAP Jam embedded widgets.

SAP Jam offers web page-embeddable widgets which you can easily add to any HTML page with just a few predefined lines of code. For more information, see Add SAP Jam functionality to web pages with SAP Jam embeddable widgets.

  • You can use the SAP Jam API to integrate your SAP Jam features and your business application data.

Sometimes the application needs to access SAP Jam functionality which is not available through SAP Jam widgets, and then you need to use an ODate API. For more information, see Use the SAP Jam API to integrate Jam features and your business application data.

  • You can develop OpenSocial gadgets for SAP Jam on SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

SAP Jam provides a rich set of tools which foster collaboration and drive decision-making. For more information, see Develop OpenSocial gadgets for SAP Jam on SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

  • You can also use SAP HANA Cloud Platform to integrate your business data into SAP Jam via "external applications".

SAP Jam is capable of incorporating business data in SAP Jam groups without the need to build an OpenSocial gadget. As long as the business data is exposed to SAP Jam via an OData service, SAP Jam can render the business data as part of a SAP Jam group. For more information, see Use HCP to integrate your business data into Jam via "external applications".

You also need to acquaint with the SAP Jam Developer Guide to learn how to implement different scenarios that the SAP Jam service offers.
