The fourth week of the openSAP course Extending SAP Products with SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q4/2015) will provide you with details around SAP Jam extensions.
During the week, we'll look into SAP Jam extension options including work patterns and the OData API. Additionally, we will develop our first SAP Jam extension and customize SAP Jam to our needs.
At the end of this week you'll know SAP Jam extensions in details and you will have developed such an extension.

In this unit you will get to know what SAP Jam work patterns are and how work patters increase the productivity of existing applications.
In this unit you will get to know what work patterns are generally comprised of, how SAP Jam rendering is configured to display external data and what the role of custom group templates in SAP Jam is.
In this unit you will get to know what the work pattern entry points are and what they are useful for. Additionally, you will learn which authentication and authorization layers SAP Jam supports and which APIs SAP Jam exposes.
In this unit you will get to know UI widgets, iFrame widgets and SAP Jam UI5 controls. All three are ways to extend SAP Jam, each with different strengths and use cases.
In this unit you will get to know how it is possible to extend SAP Jam to fit the needs of custom work patterns. You will learn about OpenSocial Gadgets that are build on OpenSocial APIs and provide a mechanism to run external applications and websites inside SAP Jam.
In this unit you will get to know how to extend existing applications by adding social context and how to build new work patterns with custom group templates.
