In Steven Covey's book  "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People", Habit #7 is "Sharpen the Saw".  My interpretation of this habit is that everyone should take some time to step back from the day-to-day battles and do things that refresh and improve oneself.  For example, taking time to learn, teach, exercise, socialize, relax, etc.

If you are reading this, chances are you are actively engaged in your company's efforts to improve its Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) performance, and in so doing become a more sustainable business. If this is your role, no doubt you are (extremely) busy planning work, implementing it, and of course dealing with whatever issues come up during the course of the day.

Well, on November 6, 2014 seize the opportunity to step back from the fray, and "sharpen your saw" by attending a free educational webinar hosted by SAP and featuring a well-known industry analyst, LNS Research.

Recently, LNS Research surveyed EHS professionals on leading practices in EHS management and software implementation. During the webinar, Matt Littlefield and Paul Leavoy of LNS Research will share the survey results as well as practical advice and actionable recommendations to extend operational risk management across the value chain to improve EHS performance.

This is a great way to learn about industry trends, best practices, and strategies to use technology to enable your EHS processes and management systems, and to sharpen your saw! Even if you can't attend the webinar live, it's worthwhile to register as you will have an opportunity to view the replay. Learn more about this educational webinar, and please pass on the news of this opportunity to your EHS colleagues.

See you online on November 6 at 2:00 p.m. ET...I can hear those saws being sharpened already!
