What if we could collaborate between the owner operators, their corporate and retail tenants and the real estate services companies?  Can you imagine the improvement in understanding of how system solutions impact these relationships?  For many years ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) in Las Vegas has been the hub of lease negotiation between landlords and tenants.    Why wouldn’t it make sense to create an atmosphere where these same companies could come together and learn how to work more efficiently together?  SAP is leveraging their growing momentum in the Real Estate industry to host this type event.  The Real Estate industry must embrace new ways to collaborate as we are faced with a shifting business community that is younger, more virtual and expects business information and insights anywhere and anytime.

Leveraging Mobility:

Do we understand the impact a mobile device might have when a building owner leverages this technology to support their tenant?  For example, as a tenant, what information do I want the maintenance technician to provide to make the experience effective and efficient?  How much quicker can issues that impact the tenant be resolved if all the documentation is completed at the same time as the service?  How much more effective can we become in the leasing process if agents are provided with devices that allow for access to updated data affecting the negotiation.  As real estate executives what is the value of accessing property data in real-time while visiting the location and developing operating strategies?  Simply selecting a device is not a mobile strategy. SAP delivers a mobile platform that will provide flexibility and security to optimize mobile business processes.

Analytics and Intelligent Big Data:

Effective and efficient understanding of real estate data has long been a challenge in our industry.  What kind of information can owners or Real Estate Services Company provide a tenant? What information should be analyzed for an effective operating strategy?  What does it mean to manage “big data”, to make it intelligent for a more predictable outcome?  Real Estate service companies can seize an opportunity like this by providing intelligent data in a consumable format, as a service.  Owner operators can better understand data and provide tenants information that will build relationships and help drive tenant satisfaction and retention.  Analytics and analytical reporting has grown well beyond the dashboards that have enamored the industry.  The ability to collaboratively provide intelligent data through interactive analytical reports provides for impactful conversations between landlord and tenant.  The SAP Business Objects reporting strategy and intelligent data leveraging in-memory computing (SAP on HANA) provides an industry leading solution for Owners, Service Providers and Tenants to come together and effectively consume data.

SAP is hosting an event in Chicago on March 4-6 where collaboration on topics like these and many more will be discussed amongst real estate industry leaders.  Companies like Target, Wal-Mart and Wells Fargo interacting with General Growth, Forest City, and Cushman & Wakefield.  The conference is intended to unlock the possibilities of these companies and many more sitting at round tables openly discussing their successes, needs, requirements and obstacles.  SAP will provide thought leadership and help companies move beyond ERP, offering solutions that will enhance collaboration and optimize effective and efficient relationships.
