News on SAP NetWeaver 7.3

There is a new article on SAP NetWeaver 7.3 - Tuning Caches.
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how content consumption performance can be improved using the caches available in SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3. The article covers three caching aspects related to end user navigation flow.

Read this new how-to guide: How to Automate Content Creation via XML (XML Content and Actions) (SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SPS04):
Learn how to use XML to automate the creation of portal content objects and the execution of actions in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). You can create mass content without the need to use the portal wizards and editors. In addition, advanced users can perform batch operations and make pinpoint modifications within a large content base.

It is now possible to discover the landscapes and systems maintained in the System Landscape Directory (SLD) automatically and to apply the configured properties to the systems in the Portal. Read this blog for more information Integrating SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 with a Central SLD

And there is also a second blog on SLD integration. A new wizard is introduced in SAP NetWeaver 7.3 for selecting which system to be synched with and which parameters values to save in the Portal. The main advantage of the SLD integration is the ability to create a system in the Portal, based on the information maintained in the SLD, which will be synchronized with its equivalent system in the SLD. For more information read this blog on Importing SLD Systems to your SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3
