Availability of SAP Financial Consolidation 10.0, Support Package 15 (SP15)

SAP Financial Consolidation is our specialty financial consolidation and reporting application. Part of SAP Enterprise Performance Management solutions, it provides large enterprises the ability to meet complex consolidation requirements, streamline regulatory compliance, unify legal and management reporting and speed their overall financial close-to-disclose process. Today, we are happy to announce the immediate availability of SAP Financial Consolidation 10.0 Support Package 15 (SP15). SP15 delivers major new features including new real-time reporting through SAP HANA, enhanced user management, improved performance with SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and enlarged support for technology platforms.

Key new features and customer benefits

  • Real-time reporting through SAP HANA

In addition to Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases, SAP Financial Consolidation 10.0, Support Package 12 delivered  support for SAP HANA as an underlying database. With SP15, we bring SAP HANA integration to the next level and help our customers unleash the power of real-time analytics on consolidated data through in-memory technology. SP15 takes advantage of SAP HANA to power a new class of real-time analytics; its instantly analyzes huge volumes of data. SP15 is a true game-changer: with SAP HANA the IT architecture is dramatically simplified. Data can be directly accessed real-time, even against massive amounts of records, through business intelligence applications, such as SAP Lumira or SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence and also via Microsoft Excel by the add-in for Microsoft Office. • Faster data transfer to SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and enterprise performance management applications through SAP Financial Information Management

According to APQC Fortifying the Financial Close-to-Disclose Process research paper, many finance executives state that “a big source of problem has to do with the ungainly need to take transaction data that had previously been pulled into the general ledger and pour that data into manual processes for the final steps of close-to-disclose.” To automate this process, customers using SAP Financial Consolidation in combination with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and SAP Business Warehouse (BW) leverage our SAP Financial Information Management software to automate and streamline data transfer between systems. In order to eliminate bottlenecks for a fast export to SAP BW or enterprise performance management applications, both SAP Financial Consolidation 10.0 SP15 and SAP Financial Information Management 10.0 now benefit from backend optimization resulting in up to 10x gain in performance and processing speed*, with the same level of accuracy.

  • Reinforced user management capabilities

At the foundation of SAP Financial Consolidation are auditability and control. With SP15 we reinforce these capabilities through new functions related to user management, which is a more and more important topic for large enterprises to be compliant with internal controls and external regulations. A set of nine new features has been developed by co-innovating with some of our most strategic customers through the SAP Customer Connection Program. SP15 new features make user management easier, more precise and significantly increase visibility of data access rights. With SP15 our customers and their auditors are now able to easily set up and get full insight in user privileges by reporting unit and functional profile as well as import and export complete user information in XML format. SP15 helps customers streamline their financial governance activities and ensures full coverage of segregation of duties requirements.

  • Customer-driven enhancements

SAP Financial Consolidation 10.0 SP15 also includes new functions proposed by our customers through SAP Idea Place, our online service to enable SAP teams to facilitate co-innovation with our business end-users. Based on customer ideas three new features have been developed and are available in SP15: manual journal entries can now be exported to Microsoft Excel which is massively used by finance teams; ergonomics and usability of the SAP Financial Consolidation end-user “desktop” have been improved through more precise entity selection and new filtering capabilities; a new “save as” feature has been created for rate tables so consolidation end-users can fill in conversion or tax rates based on a previous period instead of creating a new table from scratch.

  • Enlarged platform support

SAP is committed to testing and ensuring software support for major computing platforms used by our SAP Financial Consolidation customers. In particular SP15 now officially supports Internet Explorer 11 web browser.
