Hello All,

Few months back i came accross one issue in our project that the user has split the validity of the info record and due to this the same price is getting copied to other splitted valdity date price. User has inserted the new validity period in between the validity period 06.12.2013-31.12.9999. Below we can see that the user has entered validity period 01.07.2014-31.12.2014 due to which the info record got split and got divided t three validity period.

Due to this, when the user changes the price for period 01.01.2015 / 31.12.2099 price also getting changed for period 06.12.2013 / 30.06.2014 to the same price. In other words, system changes the price for both periods to either 1.013,72 or 963,72.  system does not change the price for period 01.07.2014 / 31.12.2014.

This issue has happened becasue during the maintenance of the conditions of an info record, a new period is inserted into an existing period. The existing period is split into two records. In this case, the same condition record is assigned to both 'old' partial records. As a result, changes to the conditions in one of these periods also immediately affects the other one. There is SAP note for this NOTE: 358998. This problem is due to the system design. There is no technical solution for this issue. So with the help of below steps, we can correct the info record without deleting and creating the new one.

Step 1:

Go to ME12 and select conditions. Now select the first validity period and click new validity period.

Step 2:

Change the validity period from 06.12.2013 to 31.12.2099 and save.

You will get a pop up as below. Click on enter.

Step3:

Now again go to ME12 and select conditions and select new validity periods as shown below.

Step 4:

Now instead of splitting the period, add one by one validity period starting with first validity period 06.12.2013 / 30.06.2014: 1,013.72 EUR and click on save.

Step 5:

Now again go to ME12 and select conditions and select new validity periods as shown below.

Step 6:

Add second validity period 01.07.2014 / 31.12.2014: 988.72 EUR and click on save.

Step 7:

Now again go to ME12 and select conditions and select new validity periods as shown below.

Step 8:

Add second validity period 01.01.2015 / 31.12.2099: 963.72 EUR and click on save. You will get a pop up. Click on enter and proceed.

In this way you can correct the info record.

Hopefully this document will help you in solving the info record issue for split validity period.

Thanks and Regards,

Chetan Pardhi
