Hi folks,

Recently I've faced a case where 'Spec.proc.type: SLoc' (MARD-LSOBS) field in Material Master was defined and it was expected the item category to be filled correspondingly for a planning element (purchase requisition) created by MRP. But it was blank.

If you face the same problem, here is my hint:

The item category for the planning elements created by MRP is defined by the value set for the field 'Special Procurement' (MARC-SOBSL) on tab MRP2 of the  material master.

For example, if you define for a material the special procurement type '30 - Subcontracting', the item category for purchase requisitions of this material created by MRP will be 'L - Subcontracting'. The same happens for other special procurement types, such as consignment, stock transfer, etc.

So, try to set the corresponding value for the field 'Special Procurement' (MARC-SOBSL) on tab MRP2 of the material master and re-run MRP to resolve the problem.

Br, Alex.
