I am pleased to announce that registration and call for submissions for the inaugural SAP Inside Track New York City are now open.  All of the links you need to sign up to attend and present are below.  So, what is an Inside Track?  Simply put, Inside Tracks are community-based 'unconferences' that allow like-minded SAP technology folks to gather and learn from each other!  Some of the kind of folks & sessions that have presented at previous Inside Tracks include:

  • SCN community members presenting on social media
  • SAP Mentors presenting on technical topics
  • ASUG Members presenting on SAP BusinessObjects
  • SAP Mentors leading hands-on training sessions

SAP has offered up space at their global marketing office in the West Village and many thanks to SAP Mentor and all around community guru Marilyn Pratt for helping to coordinate the location.  It's not a huge space, so make sure to sign up early! And remember- the session content is driven by YOU!  The agenda is only a mechanism for scheduling, the content is all community driven.  There are no set tracks or technical requirements: only that your abstract not be a sales pitch.  Do you want to talk about how you implemented an analytics solution?  Do you have a creative use for mobility that you think is cool?  Have you found a way to speed up your year-end close and think others can benefit?  Then submit an abstract- it's that simple.

Now, I've been asked a few times why I'm coordinating an Inside Track in NYC, since I currently live and work outside Philadelphia.  Pretty simple, to be honest- it gives me a chance to come home.  I was born in Paterson, grew up in Fair Lawn and my family owned a deli on 139th and Amsterdam, across from City College.  I don't get home nearly as often as I should (ask my mother) and when I realized that NYC hadn't experienced an Inside Track, I thought 'what the heck'!

Remember- signing up is great, but presenting is even better!  Sessions should be about 45 minutes long wit about 10 minutes for Q&A.  Keep checking the wiki for information on the agenda and logistic details.  And as they say, I've saved the best for last.  The cost will be the same as any Inside Track: FREE!  (And you thought I'd get through a blog without using all caps- ha!)

That's right, a full day worth of networking, learning and community goodness for no cost.  Make sure to register early, seats will (hopefully) fill up fast.  Hope to see you there!
