On Tuesday, November 26, the ASUG Ontario Chapter held a "SOLD-OUT" meeting of the SAP User Community in the Greater Toronto Area.

We were hosted by SAP Canada, at their state-of-the-art meeting venue in Toronto, Ontario.

Standing-room only participants from the Public and Private were registered for the all-day event from 60 different companies. We even had participants travel to the Toronto event from as far away as Montreal, Ohio and Arizona to take part in a full-day of ASUG learning and networking.

The morning keynote was an insightful in-depth presentation of the “City of Toronto - Solution Manager 7.1 use in IT Operations” presented by michael.untersberger (SAP Active Global Support) and Mike Moreira (City of Toronto).

The City’s Auditor General had recommended establishing a single repository for all changes to SAP, and documenting all steps in the change process. The City looked at many options and chose to implement SAP Solution Manager 7.1 via the SAP Ramp-up Program.

Then we were able to bring SAP TechEd 2013 content to our local ASUG Chapter, as steve.holder (SAP Canada) presented "(TEC100) SAP Technology Portfolio Road Map – Technology Investment That Meets Your Needs". It was a great end-to-end session to help ASUG member understand how all the many parts of the SAP Ecosystem fit together both now and in the future.

Chapter attendees enjoyed an productive Networking lunch with their SAP colleagues.

The afternoon sessions started with Eric Le Du (Createch Group) presenting an excellent "Overview of SAP BI (SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects BI4 and HANA)". There was a lot of information to absorb in 1-hour, and we will probably plan more detailed break-outs on individual SAP BI & BW topics at our 2014 meetings.

The final presentation of the day was on the new "ANST - Automated Note Search Tool" presented by miguel.alfaro and lloyd.goveia (SAP Active Global Support).

ANST is a very interesting tool - and should help ASUG Members find answers to their SAP questions and problems more easily.

We wrapped-up the day with a recap of planned ASUG Ontario activities (Next meetings in late-February and early-June 2014), and a raffle for two SAP Press ( http://www.sap-press.com ) book-vouchers drawn from attendees who completed their Feeedback Surveys.

It was an great ASUG Ontario event, with enthusiastic feedback from the participants...and it was only possible with the help of the SAP Canada team, especially diane.pickett, Marketing Director, SAP Solutions Team - and our dedicated team of ASUG Ontario Volunteers.

Thank you for your support of the ASUG Ontario community!
