This episode of ‘On the way to…’ is brought to you by...my house. Where the coffee is free, the internet somewhat sporadic (thanks Crap-cast) and the company is pretty good! And to be honest, I got up a bit late and missed the ‘beat the traffic’ times, so I figure if I’m going to sit in traffic to the airport, why not post this!
As I look at my agenda starting to fill up and begin the download of the mobile app for my devices, I start to think about what exactly I am planning on getting out of this year’s Annual Conference. Of course, I’m looking for the most up-to-date information on the Analytics and BI tools that I use- that’s a given. But I always to try to find a something that isn’t exactly BI-related. Why? I think that there’s a inane human trait for curiosity, especially when it comes to folks in the technical arena. Now, I’m not saying that we should be looking for the ‘next big thing’, but more along the lines of looking for something that makes you think ‘interesting’. As tomorrow breaks and #ASUG2015 kicks off, I’m going to look at the agenda and find that ‘interesting’ session. I look forward to this everyone and suggest you give it a try!!

CYC2558: Lunch and Network with the BI Community
Grab your box lunch and head to the ASUG Hub! We’re going to have as many members of the ASUG BI Community (schedule’s permitting, of course) there to mix and mingle with the community. We’ll try to answer any questions you have (or point you to the right people who can answer them!) as well as take suggestions for upcoming webcasts and conference content. If you’ve got an idea for what will make a great webcast, bring it along with your lunch.

It seems that more and more organizations are bringing Lumira in-house ‘for a look’ against it’s competitors (mine included), so this session seems like it may fit the bill for those interested in this breed of tool.

You folks in the community asked for customer stories and the Annual Conference committee has tried really hard to find them for you. Here’s a great example of a customer presenting a highly requested topic- come and get your community based education!!

IF2363: Influence: Collect ideas for a second Focus Topic for the BusinessObjects BI Platform
I would be remiss to not promote my own session, right? Join the BI Platform Influence Council in the ASUG Hub for an open session! Council Customer Chair Kevin Geiger from Kimberly-Clark and SAP POC Maheshwar Singh will lead a Design Thinking session where we will collect ideas for a focus topic to add to the larger council discussion. This is your prime opportunity to have your voice heard with product direction and features of the BI Platform. Don’t worry, as the ASUG BI Community liaison, I’ll do my best to stay out of Kevin and Maheshwar’s way and only ‘facilitate’ when needed!!
