Dear Community,

If you did not have the chance to join SAP InnoJam, you might want to read about it. I will try to capture a lot of information, sending over the spirit of InnoJam will be more difficult, but you might can an idea on the photo gallery.

October 14th, our third pre-TechEd InnoJam in a row started. chris.turner, EVP HANA Partner and Developer Ecosystems at SAP, kicked-off the event. He was very clear on the importancy of developers.

After a welcome message by anne.hardy and gigi.read, hester.hilbrecht took over and started with the Design Thinking Introduction. The participants went through all the different phases in the process, interviewed people, told the story, and identified the needs.

The overall topic of this years SAP InnoJam is "Build Applications for a Healthier World". The InnoJammers had 4 different challenges and needed to choose 1:

1) How can we educate people to enjoy being informed about what they eat/to stay fit in a fun way?

2) How might we improve the communication between doctors and patients regarding pre-diagnosis?

3) Redesign the mechanism and process for home care patients in order to reduce the cost of treatment, and improve personal health and well-being.

4) Redesign the experience for tracking your family history in order to make it easier to give this information to other family members and doctors/clinicians.

The InnoJammers build 7 different groups based on those challenges:

Team 1: Mumsy's

Team 2: Dr. Know

Team 3: Das Haus

Team 4: Sweety

Team 5: Dream Team

Team 6: Healthvolution

Team 7: Pimp my Health

If you want to read the details about the teams and the description of their ideas, please go to this wiki page.

The prototype phase is always the most funny one. Everyone is allowed to behave like a child - being creating with playdoo and lego, balloons and many more. Motto is: Come up with wild ideas, make it visible and present it to the other groups.

The day is not over yet. We just had dinner and some ice cream. People talk and get connected.

We also have a bar, ice cream, snacks the whole night. And some people already get tired 😉 Inga, wake up!!!

The day is not over yet. The teams are in the middle of the coding session. We introduce the different technologies and have a lot of experts supporting the teams. We might be here the whole night.

Stay tuned. inga.bereza will blog tomorrow about the second day, you will also read about the winner of SAP InnoJam 2012 Las Vegas.

Happy Sunday Night!

Karin
