After our great premiere last year (blog post) we’re now closing in on our second Inside Track in Frankfurt. In just a few days the doors will open on March 12th kicking off this year’s set of Inside Track events together with SAP Inside Track Istanbul(sitist).

With a bigger organization team, we’ve taken on the challenge once again to set up a great community event... with not only one but two consecutive community days in Frankfurt. Together with the openUI5-Team from SAP we’re happy to host the first ever UI5 conference on Friday March 11th – the day before #sitFRA. The infrastructure and pool of resources are shared between the events and all of us are blown away by the great reaction both events have received in the community. Take a look at the UI5con wiki site for details about this year’s #sitFRA warm-up 😉

Agenda

Our agenda is online and you can take a look at sitfra2016.cbasis.com to see what to expect. We have a good mixture of topics including IoT, HCP, ABAP and of course HANA is also on the menu. Personally I’m looking forward to “HCP on the ISS - How to connect an Astro-Pi to HCP using IoT Service” by christian.drumm and “10 tips to improve your ABAP debugging workflow” by christian.guenter. Go and take a look at the agenda yourself to find your favorite topics 😉

Registration process

A word on the registration process… with the UI5con opening their doors for registration a week ahead using the proven old-school “enter yourself in a wiki table” format as the registration process and having a real hard time copeing with the instant demand (sold out in approx. 45 minutes – with lots of wiki related editing problems) we decided to go with eventbrite.com as our registration tool, with all its pros and cons that came with that approach. On the pro side: It is a scalable ticket solution with lots of functions we could use like special speaker tickets and waiting list functionality. On the con side: Transparency of the wiki site is lost. We tried to overcome this limitation and put in the effort of adding the list of registered attendees and the waiting list to our wiki page. But this kind of maintenance needs lots of extra time and it gets outdated pretty fast… In conclusion: We’re pretty happy with eventbrite and how it enabled us to have our first batch of participants tickets sold out in just one hour :-). Albeit we miss the openness the wiki provided.

Sponsors

Closing I want to thank our sponsors who make it possible to host and finance such an event. Every single invoiceis covered by one of them and without their engagement we wouldn’t be able to host sitfra

Safe journey

To everybody coming to Frankfurt to visit either or both UI5con and sitFRA: Have a safe journey and see you soon 😉
