In the third part of our blog series we get in touch with Tsovinar Chugaszyan, working in the HCP product management team at SAP. She is an engaged SAP Inside Track (SIT) supporter, did a presentation on the SIT Frankfurt this year and is actually member of the organizing team for the SIT Walldorf which will take place on December 2nd and 3rd 2016 (registration form). Can you give me a short introduction of yourself? And if you like, tell us something about you where SAP is not mentioned …
I am an Armenian currently living in Germany and working as a JavaScript Developer at SAP. One might often see me at conferences and tech events, as I like to keep up with the latest technology trends. As a huge fan of arts and history I enjoy visiting museums and historic sites. I am fascinated with ballet and I’m glad I’ve had the chance to take some choreography classes as a child.
Since when the SAP Community Network plays a role in your IT life and how got you notice of the community?
Just like any developer working in the SAP ecosystem, I used SCN articles and forums since I joined SAP. Later I started also to attend different SCN events. This turned for me to be a great experience that let to connect with many amazing community members including SAP customers and consultants, who generously share their knowledge and ideas. Such environment inspired me to start contributing from my side as well and I was very happy to get encouraging feedback.
Why are you member of the community?
First of all, because it feels like being member of a “SAP family” that is supportive and empowering. Secondly, I believe it provides a chance to “creators” and “consumers” of SAP products to come together and become part of a great co-creation process.
What is your favorite space?
There are couple of spaces that are my favorites, because apart from the “SAP Fiori” that relates to my current work most, I like also to explore spaces like Design Thinking with SAP http://scn.sap.com/community/design-thinking , SAP for Public Sector http://scn.sap.com/community/public-sector, etc.
Thinking at your SAPInsideTrack (SIT), what presentation was the most impressive for you?
I liked very much the “SAP HANA Cloud Platform IoT” session by Twan van den Broek at #sitFRA. Experimentations with SAP products for solving water management problems sounded really interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x504nxMBXc
Do you have any suggestions for improvement of the concept or the organization of the SIT event?
Similar to other technical events, unfortunately we have very few women among attendees and speakers. So my wish is that we pay more attention to this issue and work actively towards changing the current ratio. It was great to see relatively many women at the #sitFRA and I hope we will be able to keep up this trend in the future.
What is the impact of the SAPMentors for a community event like SIT?
I think their impact is huge, as they are the leaders of the community who organize and shape the content of such events.
Where (according to your opinion) is a blind spot and needs an SIT?
I think SIT events are particularly needed in countries that have emerging markets, but don’t have SAP offices. That would help to achieve smoother and smarter entry into the market.
