By now we all know that mobility was one of the big stories this week at SAPPHIRE NOW. This is easy to understand. Smartphones and tablets are innovative, great for demos and becoming increasingly adopted in the enterprise. I’d like to add one more (tongue in cheek) observation to this list.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed while walking the exhibitor floor is the near-ubiquity of iPad raffle prizes from vendors. Several years ago iPods were the trendy giveaway, followed by iPhones and now iPads (along with Playbooks and several others in the growing tablet market). If you walked down any exhibitor aisle you were bound to see 5-10 iPad raffles. After a while I decided to take pictures of some of the signage – photos taken with my smartphone of course. I took about 20 pictures but there were dozens more signs I didn’t have time to shoot. To illustrate the point I’ve stolen Todd Wilms’ photo gallery idea and created my own little collage. Hope you like it.
