SAP NetWeaver Cloud Portal experience site is live, please give it a try with your iPad or desktop browser.

Most impatient already left this blog, so you're looking for a bit more info. This is a first public instance of site created on SAP NetWeaver Cloud Portal, previously known as SAP On Demand Portal.

It contains two sites: first one is an experience site. There you can find information about the NW Cloud Portal, overview video, 30 second videos demonstrating selected capabilities and our approach to authoring sites for multiple devices, few documents describing the solution; finally, on the last page you will be able to tell us what do you think.Second site is linked from the first page, it is a site created by our Beta partner Intenzz and shows their conceptual scenario for travel management site. Application there runs on SAP NetWeaver Cloud.

NW Cloud Portal is created based on standards and with mobile first attitude. Thus we started development from the tablet consumption, than moved to desktop and we're working on smartphones. Due to limited validation capacity before SAPPHIRE we tested this site only with iPad and desktop browsers. However, it runs on other platforms, checked this cool picture above where NW Cloud Portal runs on RIM playbook integrated into Porsche dashboard.

During the last few hours we already got some responses, we're listening to #NWCloudPortal. Thanks to @tobiashofmann, @erhankeseli and of course @jpenninkhof

Tobias Hofmann @tobiashofmann

@PORTAL_SAP If I were at Orlando, I would ask: why does the page not pass the W3C markup validation service?

Thanks Tobias for pointing out, so we took two steps immediately:

  1. The single error of W3C validation has been fixed (will be deployed by the end of sprint)
  2. We'll add automatic W3C validation during our build process.

Jan Penninkhof @jpenninkhof
