After outsourcing its manufacturing, Radisys, the leading provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions for 3 and 4G mobile platforms, could not see what inventory was on-hand to meet its telecom, aerospace/defense, or public safety customer orders. Sometimes its manufacturer prioritized orders differently, preventing Radisys from swiftly meeting demand of top customers. 

 

Frequently, Radisys competes to achieve a customer’s business, so rapid response time is critical to maintaining its lead in the market. To gain visibility into its supply chain, and improve its customer order response time and on-time delivery, Radisys expanded its technology portfolio with additional supply chain software that assists with response management. Lisa Aleman, Director of Sales and Operations Planning, stated, “We saw immediate benefits within 4-6 weeks [after implementing]….[we have] the ability to respond to our customers very quickly….We've been able to cut our response times to customers to less than 48 hours, about 98% of the time.”

 

 

 

 

Radisys can plan more insightfully now, allowing senior leadership to seize new opportunities with a minimum of risk. Planning to grow by acquisition, the ability to quickly pull new data from acquired companies into its existing solution set prepares Radisys to respond to customer demand even more quickly.    Radisys’s next generation technologies make it possible for communication through devices to happen more quickly whether between troops on the battlefield, first responders to those in crisis, or just two old friends catching up.
