December 7th is the deadline to submit your abstract for ASUG Annual Conference, co-located with SAPPHIRENOW in May 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

I've already written some tips for abstracts here but I have some more tips and frequently asked questions:

FAQ:

Can I submit multiple abstracts?

Yes, multiple abstracts are welcome

Will ASUG reimburse travel expenses?

ASUG does not reimburse travel expenses but if your abstract is selected you get to attend the conference for free (conditions apply to multiple speakers)

What if I have no experience in public speaking?

ASUG offers webcasts for speakers and typically at the end there is an open forum to ask questions.

There is also a mid-point review process if you have trouble preparing your presentation.

How long are the sessions?

Education sessions are typically 60 minutes long with 45 minutes presentation and 15 minutes question & answer

Why should I present?

This is an opportunity to showcase yourself and your company and plus you will get free registration to both ASUG Annual Conference and SAPPHIRE NOW.  You can be attendee and learn from other customer stories.

Are multiple speakers allowed?

Yes, please note the policy from ASUG:

One (1) primary and (1) secondary presenter who are identified at the time of abstract submission and whose abstracts are accepted will receive a complimentary registration to the conference, provided at least one of the speakers is an SAP customer. Secondary presenters who do not qualify for a complimentary registration are welcome to attend the event at a discounted presenter registration rate and will be listed in the event marketing material.

I have a topic but cannot find the right track - what should I do?

Feel free to e-mail speakers@asug.com or select the "I don't know which track" option

What type of presentation focus areas are available ?

I recommend that abstracts focus on best practices, return on investment, cost savings, lessons learned, "war stories", case studies

I submitted my abstract, what are the next steps?

ASUG volunteers will review the abstract - if selected, you will be notified by ASUG Headquarters in 2013 and will be asked to participate in a mid-point review some time in March and submit final presentation in April (dates subject to change)

I'm ready.  Where do I submit?

callforpresentations.asug.com or click here

I am experiencing logon issues at callforpresentations.asug.com - what can I do?

Send an e-mail to speakers@asug.com

I want to thank Alice Adams, of ERP Corp, for letting me borrow tips from SAP Controlling 2013.  Alice recommends following the SAP Controlling Community, where management accounting professionals have a venue to share knowledge, best practices, insight, perspectives, and opportunities.

So don't delay, submit your ASUG Annual Conference abstract today (quote borrowed from fellow ASUG Volunteer Kristen Dennis)
