Why attend SapphireNow and ASUG Annual Conference in May 2013?  This is the best opportunity to hear stories about how your peers are leveraging SAP solutions to simplify their processes and infrastructure, to accelerate transactions and delivery of information, and to transform their business processes.  It is also a great opportunity for networking and collaboration with companies and experts in your industry.

SAP for Mill Products and Mining Industries

Within SAP, Mill Products companies include Primary Metals, Fabricated Metals, Building Materials, Forestry, Paper, Packaging, Furniture, and Textiles.  Mining companies may range from coal to any type of metal or mineral, and these companies may also do processing at their sites (so may have aspects of both Mining and Process Manufacturing companies).  We have consolidated documents posted on the SAP Community Network for Mill Products and Mining that include session listings and details from both ASUG and SapphireNow specific to those industries, which you will want to use in conjunction with your specific interests and/or Line of Business (LOB) to create your own personal agenda.  Create agenda.

Americas SAP User Group (ASUG) and Special Interest Groups (SIG)

SAP has a strong independent customer user group called ASUG with over 130,000 customers in 17 industries.  We are proud to say that we have customer-led special interest groups for both Mill Products and for Mining industries.  Each of these industries will have an “Industry Day” with a full day of customer presentations and a networking lunch on Wednesday (May 15) which will take place at the Orlando Hilton, just across the covered walkway from the Orange County Convention Center.  The ASUG Communities Lounge will be located on the vendor floor at the Convention Center and it will be the location for our annual SIG Meetings on Tuesday (May 14) for Mill Products at 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in Meeting Room #3 and for Mining at 1:45 - 2:45 p.m. in Meeting Room #2.

Sapphire Process Manufacturing Forum (targeted to Mill Products and Chemicals companies)

Mill Products will be highlighted in the Process Manufacturing Forum on Thursday at SapphireNow.  The Forum  will consist of presentations such as a keynote featuring ArcelorMittal, a customer panel, individual theater presentations with customer speakers, “microforum” sessions, demonstrations (including Transportation Management), and a discussion table with content such as “What’s New in Mill Products”.  For more information on specific sessions, visit our Mill Products document on SCN.

Sapphire Energy & Natural Resources Forum (targeted to Mining, Oil & Gas, and Utilities)

The Energy & Natural Resource Forum for Mining companies will be held on Wednesday at SapphireNow.  This will also consist of a keynote and individual presentations such as Alacer Gold talking about their 4-month implementation of SAP Business Suite and Peabody discussing how they are using Business Analytics.  There will be several demonstrations (such as Haul Truck Analysis leveraging HANA), microforums, and a discussion table hosted by industry experts.

For more information on specific sessions, visit our Mining document on SCN.

Meet your peers and industry experts

Please work with your Account Executive (AE) to organize opportunities to participate in Meet our Customer (MoC) sessions as well as to meet individually with industry experts.  Some of the industry experts we will have at the event include our VP of the Industry Business Unit (IBU) for Mill Products and Mining (Eckhardt Siess), Director of Mill Products IBU (Stefan Weisenberger), Director of Mining & Metals IBU (Georg Gradl) and your local Industry Principals for North America (Joyce Swanke and Perry Zalevsky).

We hope to see you at SapphireNow and ASUG!  Please visit the website for further information and to register for the event.
