Prerequisite

You want to have the total amount of several cost
elements to be the selection criteria when doing assessment or distribution.

Environment

SAP release independent

Solution

You can use the totals of two or more cost elements by
creating a cost element group first includes all the required cost elements.
Then you can enter the cost element group in the cost element group field of
the receiver tracing factor tab.

Cause

Business requirement

Example

Sender: Cost Center A with $100

Receiver: Cost Center B and C

Cost element group ”CEG” contains cost elements 400000 and
420000.

Cost center B has costs of $50 on cost element 400000 and
$50 on cost element 420000, which is a total of $100 on the cost element group.

Cost center B has costs of $100 on cost element
400000 and $200 on cost element 420000, which is a total of $300 on the cost
element group.

So if this cost element group was used in the
receiver tracing factor tab then the cycle would send 25% from CCR A to CCR B
and 75% from CCR A to CCR C.

This is because CCR B has tracing factor 100 /
400 and CCR C has tracing factor  300 /
400 .
