Did you hear SAP CEO Bill McDermott’s keynote today? One of the major themes was how SAP is improving the user experience with innovative and non-disruptive solutions. To ensure that customers have access to these exciting new tools, apps, and designs, we are now including SAP Screen Personas and SAP Fiori with the underlying licenses. This is detailed in a press release that went out today.
I see this as a huge win for customers. They can now mix and match SAP’s UX solutions (including SAP Screen Personas, SAP Fiori, and SAP UI5) to personalize SAP for their specific user needs, without worrying about license costs. They can use a combination of off-the-shelf solutions (Fiori apps), fast personalization (Personas), and in-house development (SAP UI5 libraries) to optimize deployment time and cost. We are also introducing some new service packages to accelerate adoption of Personas and Fiori.
The hundreds of companies that have already started on the SAP Screen Personas journey have a great start on improving usability. Their input drives our ongoing product development. You can hear some of their stories at SAPPHIRE NOW. There are some amazing examples of how organizations are driving productivity through personalization. SAP Screen Personas customers speaking at SAPPHIRE NOW include Colgate, University of Warwick, Nestle, and Freescale.
We are working closely with our customers to incorporate their feedback into the next version of Personas. We will be discussing this process and providing specific examples at ASUG Education session 0705. In addition, we will show a lab preview of the upcoming version of SAP Screen Personas.
How customer feedback shaped the future of SAP Screen Personas
While customers embraced SAP Screen Personas as a way to simplify their screens, the early versions left room for improvement. An architectural shift to HTML5 provided the opportunity to reimagine SAP Screen Personas and incorporate some constructive feedback on usability and performance. This session will discuss the specific user feedback and how we integrated it into the next generation of the product. We will focus on customer case studies and show a lab preview of the upcoming release of SAP Screen Personas.

At 4:30PM, in session PERS5495, product owner Sebastian Steinhauer and I will host a discussion about the SAP Screen Personas product roadmap and how to prepare your current Personas environment and flavors for a smooth migration. We plan to release the new version of Personas later in 2014.
